In early July, the team at Kikeriki Productions gathered all their resources, called in all favours and took a giant leap of faith from making records into making TV. For us, as producers, it was a relatively blind leap but we were in good company and had some very experienced hands on deck to help us turn our vision into 45 seconds of live-action/animated magic. No one really knew if it was going to work (or how it was going to work for that matter...!) but everyone thought it would be fun to try. Almost everyone did a job (or multiple jobs) they had never done before - we, as producers, not only dusted off our acting hats but also turned our hands to catering and set dressing, band members became animated animal stand-ins, our writer Andreas spent half the day on his knees playing our 7-year old animated protagonist, Iris, and our very gracious director Lilian even agreed (or did she?) to play our Director and stepped out from behind the comfort of the camera. Many thanks to our extra-ordinary technical and creative team: Lilian, Maxi, Martin, Stefan, Franziska, Nina, Andreas, Michael, Dharmander & Jason, to our sublime voice artists Gracie Beresford and Rupert Degas (who made us laugh so much it hurt), to Kallasch & (the best location ever and undoubtedly an excellent bar to boot!), to Fabian Ludwig at FL Backline, to Marlieke Kasten, to our illustrator Iris Deppe, to Julia for capturing the day so well (and playing a very convincing camera lady!) and last but not least, to Thijs, our chief animator at Studio Plumeau.
